Primary mission of "Charlie" Company is Search and Rescue, specializing in Wilderness (Overland) SAR. "Any Mission, Any Time, So Others May Live."  SAR finds the way!

Per NGR 10-4, potential missions of the Alabama State Defense Force are:
  • Assist civil authorities in the preservation of order, and protection of life and property.
  • Meet such domestic emergencies as might arise within the State.
  • Guard and protect critical industrial installations and facilities, as determined by the governor, when other means are deemed inadequate.
  • Prevent or suppress subversive activities, in conjunction with, or in support of State or local law enforcement agencies.
  • Under control of the governor, cooperate with Federal military authorities and forces engaged in active military operations or charged with internal security missions within the State.
  • Assume control of State armories and property, provide security for any Federal property until relieved by proper authority, and assist in the mobilization of the National Guard when so directed by the governor.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the governor, under the constitution and laws of the state.
"Charlie" Company is also involved with several missions during the course of the year.

"Charlie" Company also responds in times of emergency.  When a tornado ripped through Lawrence County, Alabama in February, the Rubble Rats were there.
