Second Platoon: CommunicationsPrimary Mission: Search and Rescue Support Services
The mission of Second Platoon is to provide communications/ electronics support to the SAR teams of First Platoon. Communications is essential to the success of any mission, no matter size nor scope. While a communications background is not required to become a member of Second Platoon, it is recomended. If you are unfamiliar with radio theory and basic principles, we recommend the ARRL Ham Radio License Manual. An amateur radio operator license is not required for most Charlie Company communications, but being a Ham will provide the background needed to be proficient in radio communications.
Electronics are also essential, even in lean operating environments such as might be encountered during Search And Rescue operations. Second Platoon will provide core electronic services whenever feasible. This website, for example, is maintained by Second Platoon.
We are currently looking for individuals with experience in communications and or computer networking. Prior Service is a plus but by no means required. If this sounds like something you are interested in contact us at: c.co.recruiting@live.com.
